This is the first newsletter of the year 2020! Hooray! Didn’t the Rhino Party spam you too much during the year?
I want to write to you to give you some news about the Rhino Party. The Trudeau government has been in power for a year now, a year since the last election. At the Rhino Party, we believe that an election will be called very soon. According to our Supreme Dealer, Sébastien CoRhino: “You know, we can see Trudeau wants to have a majority. And it’s very simple, he’s gonna call an election before showing the next budget to Canadians, because he does not want to show Canadians a deficit budget with big holes! Since the budget is usually tabled in mid-March, they will arrange it to have an election before that, probably in February or March. ”
Which means that the next elections will probably take place in February or March! Are you ready? We are in the process of finish the writing of a guide for candidates, and clear instructions on how to be a candidate for the Rhinoceros Party, we give you news in early in 2021! Stay aware!
In all transparency, and on a less cheerful note, I would like to share a few words with you on the state of the Rhino Party’s finances. We currently need a few dollars to complete our year 2020. Unfortunately, the political parties at the federal level do not receive any public money (in some provinces like BC, the parties have financial support based on the number of votes received in the previous election). On the federal level, funding is only received through donations from the constituents.
And on the expense side, the Rhinoceros Party has one big expense that comes back every year: we have to pay an audit for our annual financial report, as well as for the financial report after each general election. The 2019 financial audit costs us $4,000: $2,000 for the election report + $2,000 for the annual report. The ridiculous part about all of this is that year after year, the expense for the audit is pretty much the only expense we have. Unfortunately, this is a mandatory step in Canada’s electoral law, and we would have to shut down the party if we can no longer assume it.
In recent years, the financial burden of the Rhinoceros Party has been borne by a few people (dealer, official agent and a few friends of the party, mainly) who each give large amounts of money every year, for several years. Unfortunately this is no longer sustainable for us and we are appealing to the Rhino Party fans to make small donations!
We would like a legion of Rhinoceros from coast to coast to coast to make a small donation to the party. In exchange for 75% back on your taxes, is it possible for you to give $20, or $100? Or even better, make a monthly donation ($3, $5 or $20?) That will allow us to face the next few years with peace of mind! If each of us donates a small amount, we will be able to complete 2020 and face 2021 without a problem! And what better way to end the year than a tax credit?
In short, we encourage you to make a small end of year donation and / or register for a monthly donation! For donations made on our website before December 31st , tax receipts will arrive early in 2021, just in time to fill your income tax! What could be better than receiving a letter from the Leader of the Rhinoceros Party along with a tax receipt? 🙂
Thank you for supporting us at this tumultuous end of the year! All the details on our website: https://www.partyrhino.ca/en/donations-t-shirt/
